Brussels, Belgium, June 20, 2010 - The Biochar Fund's managing director will speak at an important biochar conference at Iowa State University's Bioeconomy Institute. The Biochar 2010: U.S. Biochar Initiative Conference is designed to advance our understanding of the science and policy issues related to biochar as both an agent for carbon sequestration as well as an amendment for soils. On June 27 - 30 scientists, engineers, policymakers, policy analysts, producers, and users at this event will discuss recent advances in biochar science, technology, and policy. Laurens Rademakers, the Fund's director, will talk about biochar as a tool for conservation in a tropical rainforest environment. He will reveal results from past and ongoing projects, most notably the progress and importance of the Fund's US$ 500,000 initiative in Congo. Visit the conference website. |
